Diversity brings both challenges and opportunities; in most cases, the challenges come first. The benefits of diversity come when employees from diverse cultures have learned to work with one another; they can then come up with innovative solutions because they look at the same problems from different angles.
Using insightful diagrams and powerful real life example, this presentation compares the way employees from diverse cultures are taught to think and communicate to the way their Canadian counterparts are taught to think and communicate in order to break down the challenges brought by cultural diversity. This session will examine the root cause of cross-cultural misunderstandings within the high-tech sector in order to propose concrete, tried-and tested solutions.
Our speaker, Lionel Laroche, will address:
- How do Canadian organizations approach talent management?
- How do immigrant employees approach career management?
- Why is there a gap and how can we bridge it?
- Strategies that you can bring back to your organization
When people build knowledge and skills to communicate with managers, employees, colleagues and clients from diverse cultures, they form a new inclusive culture, which becomes a competitive advantage to their organizations to achieve better business results.
