Since its first publication in 1989, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey has been the most read business book for many years. Caroline Yang, Executive Compensation Program Manager at IBM has found many of the concepts in the book resonating in our daily work environment. For example, the Circle of Influence and Circle of Concern, the four quadrants of time management, building a interdependent relationship. As we look to grow ourselves professionally and personally, let’s learn and form some new habits that will make us more effective in our work and life. Caroline has worked in several areas of human resources, including compensation, HR business partner and diversity and inclusion. She is the co-author of the book “Danger and Opportunity” and hosts a Book Review Club at IBM Canada. She reviewed this book at their February meeting.
