Too assertive. Not assertive enough. Too ambitious. Not leadership material. The feedback women leaders receive often contradicts itself—and that’s not by accident.
The double bind puts women in an impossible position: act traditionally “feminine” and risk being seen as too soft. Act traditionally “masculine” and face criticism for being too aggressive. Either way, you’re judged differently than your male peers for the same behaviors.

In this session, we’ll explore how this pattern shows up in our own experiences and talk about how we navigate these contradictory expectations. We’ll discuss the real impact on our confidence and choices, and how we can challenge this double standard for ourselves and the women coming up behind us.
